A word to sum up 2018 would be grateful. I am grateful for family, good health and friends. Anytime all the kids are together is a special time for me. On mother’s day weekend we visited an Escape Room. Working together we made it out before the time was up. I continue to enjoy early morning cycle and body pump classes at the gym. Catching up with friends is valuable time.
In February we spent a day in San Diego with a good friend Kim (a college roommate from Concordia, Nebraska) and her husband, Glenn. They were vacationing from Nebraska. Kim hadn’t changed a bit over the years and it was like we haven’t been apart for 30 + years.
The kids gave us a trip to Cayucos in February. It was great to have our tour guide Alissa take us on a hike in Big Sur. A week in June to Havasu was a highlight as all the kids could take vacation days to come and a bonus was having younger brother Mike, Jessica and Josh join us. In August we enjoyed celebrating Alissa’s birthday in Santa Barbara. We took a quick trip to San Jose in October to see Nathan’s new apartment. A goal in 2019 is to get away more often
As I have learned over the years when I ask Jeff how long a project will take I usually need to double the estimated time. We painted our bathroom and bedroom which included some drywall repair. After 3 weekends of work we completed the project. After Christmas we will continue to other rooms in the house. Sorry to say we are not for hire!
