I love being a Nana

I now work two fewer days at Messiah. Having been promoted from dog-grandma to real-grandma has been very rewarding. Twice a week I travel to Solana Beach to take care of Mila while Nick and Amy work. I enjoy taking the train one day a week. Gigi leads Mila and me on walks…she prefers the park to look for squirrels. Mila enjoys her once a week music class at a park. In June, we all met at Lake Havasu for our annual lake trip. We appreciate Sean and Anna driving from Seattle with dog Penny. We are hoping Kean can join us next summer. It was fun to spend Thanksgiving in Seattle. Nathan hosted us in his new home not too far from Sean and Anna. We always enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and are planning more visits there in 2025. On weekends I enjoy hiking with Jeff and working in the yard.

Along the beach

is an even better place to be

Crystal Cove is a favorite upper and lower walk that finishes along the shoreline

Project enthusiast

This year I have enjoyed flexibly scheduled days with many project options from home improvement and hubby honey-do’s; part-time consulting; audio and video production; graphic design activities; woodworking; and toy building. I have cherished extra time with Susan, long walks and hikes together, driving and traveling to visit our family, Mila playdates, and being a partner to Nate in his big move to WA.

If we knew grand-parenting would be so fun, we would have started there

Work and volunteering keep our days filled

Gardening and woodworking are our at-home hobby activities

An airshow at the beach checks all the boxes

The Huntington Beach Pacific Airshow is an easy “yes” each year as we both get to do what we like…together. A day at the beach with downtime for reading suits one of us; and the other gets to see fighter jets screaming by and then doing high-g turns. Throw in an early coastline walk, coffee, and lunch for a picture perfect day.
