A little more cheer this year!

Gigi is officially being promoted to big sister any day now. We look forward to welcoming our little girl into the family. We surprised everyone on our family vacation with the exciting news! She will be the first grandchild for both families and is so lucky to have so many aunts and uncles ready to spoil her. In addition to prepping for baby, this year was full of many (10) concerts—our favorites were Ed Sheeran, John Legend, and Hozier. It also included trips to Seattle to visit Anna and Sean, an impromptu girls trip with mom, then Nick and I visited and got to dog sit our favorite dog-niece Penny. We love spending time with Alissa and Kean in San Diego over at their house for a BBQ, meeting up for a concert together or checking out local breweries. We enjoy seeing Nate in Orange County when he is down for visits and the holidays, although Gigi has yet to meet her cat cousin Haley up close. Cheers to 2024!

Shaka Brah 🤙🏼

I had another amazing year filled with memorable trips and cherished moments. I was lucky enough to be the best man at a friend Daniel’s beautiful destination wedding in Hawaii—and I loved every minute of it. I was also able to travel again to Japan this year. It was awesome to experience its rich culture and amazing food once again. Me and my cat Haley had an eventful year full of fun while also taking time to enjoy the small moments…as I prepare for big changes next year.

New decade achieved

With our first year of marriage in the books, Kean and I got to relive all the magic of our special day as marathon wedding guests in 2023 traveling to Colorado, Wyoming, San Luis Obispo twice, and Northern California. Non-wedding related travels included Palm Springs, Oregon, Havasu, and New York. When we are home, I’m balancing my full-time gig with teaching 8 weekly yoga classes, and Kean can be found in his hobby den (garage) working on “hobby-of-the-month” projects. We both turned 30 this year and are now reporting for local Aunt & Uncle duty!

Dog Pawrents

Sean and I are grateful for a wonderful first year of marriage filled with road trips, a new job for Sean, and camping adventures— one of our favorite experiences this year was a three-day backpacking trip in the Enchantments with friends. On St. Patrick’s Day, we brought home a golden retriever pup, making her our lucky “Penny.” It has been such a joy to care for her and watch her grow! We were grateful to be able to bring her on the family vacation to Lake Havasu where she enjoyed wrestling with Gigi and sunbathing on the boat. We are also loving being involved in the children’s ministry and prayer team at our local church and are excited to see what God has in store this coming year.

Newly Promoted

Anytime we are with the kids is a special time. We made visits to Seattle for Anna & Sean (& Penny); Sunnyvale for Nathan (& Haley); Solana Beach & San Clemente for Amy & Nick (& Gigi). Trips included interesting sights, great hikes, good food, and fun times with their pets. We enjoyed a summer family rendezvous in Havasu and set plans for another next year. Haley came to stay with us while Nate was in Japan—she and I became good friends. (Nathan claims I spoil her with too many treats). I am excited to be promoted from a grand”paw”rent to an official grandparent.

Upcycled to Papa!

Any day now, I’ll be upcycled from Dad to Papa! Looking forward to everything that entails: aweing, shutter-snapping, humble-bragging, spoiling, etc. This family milestone bring to my memory so many childhood, birthing, and parenting emotions. Thankful for the circle of life. God is so good! After a long season of prep, the tools I inherited are activated in Woodshop 2.0.
